Terms of Service
Last updated: July 15, 2026
Beacon is provided by Therapy Innovations LLC ("Beacon", "we"). By creating an account or using Beacon, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 and able to form a binding contract. Beacon is a study aid for people preparing for the BCBA examination.
2. What Beacon is (and isn't)
Beacon provides original practice questions, mock exams, and study tools mapped to the BACB 6th-edition Test Content Outline. Beacon is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). All practice content is our original work; it does not reproduce actual exam items. Beacon is a study aid only and does not guarantee that you will pass any examination or obtain any certification, and is not professional, legal, or certification advice.
3. Beta service
Beacon is currently offered as a free beta. It is provided "as is": it may change, have gaps, contain errors, or be interrupted, and the content library is still growing. We may modify or discontinue features at any time.
4. Your account
You are responsible for your account, for providing accurate information, and for keeping your credentials secure. You may not share your account or let others use it. Notify us of any unauthorized use.
5. Acceptable use and content protection
All questions, rationales, explanations, and other content are owned by Beacon and provided to you under a limited, personal, non-transferable license for your own exam preparation. You may not:
- copy, scrape, harvest, bulk-download, screenshot at scale, record, republish, distribute, sell, resell, or otherwise make our questions or content available to anyone else;
- use bots, crawlers, or automated means to access or extract content;
- reverse engineer, probe, or attempt to bypass the app's security or access controls;
- use Beacon to build or train a competing product or dataset.
Violating this section is a material breach and may result in immediate account termination (see section 9) and other remedies.
6. Feedback
If you send us feedback or report a problem (including via the in-app "report a question" flow), you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free license to use it to improve Beacon.
7. Pricing
The beta is free. We may introduce paid plans in the future; we do not guarantee continued free access, and we will give notice before charging you for anything.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Beacon is provided without warranties of any kind to the fullest extent permitted by law. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, and our total liability is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the prior 12 months or US$100. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
9. Termination
You may stop using Beacon and request account deletion at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, especially the content-protection rules in section 5, or to protect Beacon or its users.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms; we will post the new version and update the "Last updated" date, and material changes will be communicated. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
